About the Role

The General Manager, Operations supports the Chief of Staff, Emergency Medicine and Chief Executive Office (“CEO”) in managing Emergency Medicine (“EM”) operations, cross-enterprise initiatives, and projects. The primary function of this role is to multiply the effectiveness of the Chief of Staff and CEO, by proxying for the leader in relation to EM projects and the implementation of strategic planning processes. This position has a visible presence throughout the specialty and work progress relies on this person’s ability to establish professional relationships with regional leaders, Sound functional leaders, as well as hospital and health system C-suite executives and their support personnel.

The Details: This is a remote opportunity with requirements of quarterly travel (3-5 trips per year) and availability after hours by cell/text.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Implementing strategic planning processes, organizing tasks as well as parties responsible (often, this role may be the party solely responsible), tracking deadlines as well as parties responsible for completing components, providing reminders to responsible parties, and reporting progress updates.
  • Building logical and effective dashboards, pivot tables, performance metrics (including KPIs), as well as clinical reports, as requested
  • Data Ownership, including the maintenance and integrity of regional data resources in Salesforce and SharePoint.
  • Independently gathering material and data points from various sources to create first drafts of presentations, documents, and strategy portfolios, ensuring the materials are aligned with Sound’s marketing brand
  • Analyzing regional reporting, identifying concerning trends. Participate in the development and implementation of corrective action plans. Collaborate with our performance management group and regional leadership team to collect data monthly to support driving improvements in clinical performance.
  • Identifying areas where EM operations may be improved and draft proposed solutions
  • Monitoring the G&A budget, tracking budget allocations, spend, reallocations, solicit approvals, and work with the Director of Finance to ensure accuracy of budget assumptions
  • Partnering with Leadership to ensure completion of annual education requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Working knowledge of business operations, data informatics, basic accounting, and quality measures
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – ability to work across the organization at all levels with Administrative/Executive Assistants, Managers, Directors, and VPs level colleagues as peers; ability to “push” for results without alienating colleagues
  • Expert level skills with Microsoft Office Suite, including Project, Excel and PowerPoint

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Business or Finance or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience leading collaborative projects with stakeholders in multiple departments
  • 5+ years’ experience in operational management, managing multi-site operations
  • Experience in project management processes; knowledge of project management software tools, templates, and management techniques

Salary Range

  • This position offers an annual salary range of $100,000-$125,000. Exact salary will depend on the candidate’s experience, education and geographic location. This position is eligible for additional compensation beyond base pay.
