About the Role
The Senior Director is a key strategic team member reporting to the VP, Finance, to manage all financial reporting and analytics functions in the Accountable Care Organization (ACO). In collaboration with the business leadership and other centralized functions such as accounting, revenue cycle, corporate finance, IT, etc. this individual will be critical in building and managing the financial infrastructure necessary for the success of those business lines. The individual will serve as a thought-leader using exceptional financial and analytical acumen along with industry knowledge to support, coach, and enable service line executives, and operational leaders to deliver outstanding performance and results.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Budgeting and Forecasting
- Leading ACO financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting processes
- Partnering with key stakeholders internally to develop an understanding of business unit risks, and opportunities and incorporating those assumptions into the financial forecasts
- Building and maintaining monthly close financial documentation, analyses and narrative on results
- Coordinating with Sound finance to ensure alignment with company timelines and processes
- Managing the development of communication materials with Sound executives to support approval process
Decision Support
- Developing and managing decision support tools by leveraging relevant data and key assumptions from business leaders and colleagues
- Conducting financial impact analysis to support decisions and measure results
- Supporting sales team in modeling potential performance of target deals and arrangements
- Supporting leadership team in modeling vendor deals and strategic support development of such agreements
Performance Management
- Building and maintaining monthly close financial documentation, analyses and narrative on results
- Managing key performance indicators in partnership with service line leadership
- Developing reports and supporting documentation on service line financial performance, assuring accuracy and clarity of results
- Collaborating with operational teams in service lines to formulate, refine and operationalize strategies to achieve financial goals
- Liaison to service lines to broader Sound centralized finance teams such as corporate finance, accounting, revenue cycle

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, expert level fluency in Excel. Some SQL or programming experience helpful.

- Experience with CMS data, Value Based Care and risk structures

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Accounting or Finance
- 8-10 years of experience in progressive analytics, actuarial or finance experience in a healthcare environment such as health plan, risk-bearing entity or medical group operations
