Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Fraud Analyst to join our team and help protect Snap, our members, and merchant partners from fraudulent activity. In this role, you'll review payment risk activity, investigate potentially fraudulent transactions and accounts, and take appropriate action in accordance with established risk policies and procedures.
To excel in this role, you'll use your fraud expertise, sound judgment, and knowledge of card and transaction activity to manage complex cases and identify potential risks. You'll need to be analytical, comfortable working independently, and able to recognize and escalate emerging fraud patterns and trends.
How you'll make an impact:
- Review payment risk queues and analyze transactions, account activity, and behavioral indicators for potential fraud.
- Execute account restrictions, suspensions, and closures in accordance with established risk policies and procedures.
- Request, collect, and evaluate supporting documentation from members and merchants to validate account activity.
- Investigate identity theft cases and other fraud-related alerts, referrals, and assigned work items.
- Manage complex fraud case queues requiring sound judgment and nuanced risk assessment.
- Escalate cases requiring advanced data analysis, pattern identification, or fraud-ring investigations to Tier 3 Analysts.
- Coordinate with cross-functional partners to resolve fraud-related issues and support operational objectives.
- Identify and escalate emerging fraud trends, systemic risks, and large-scale issues to Tier 3 Analysts or Program Management.
- Maintain accurate and thorough case documentation while ensuring compliance with internal procedures and applicable regulatory requirements.
What you'll need to succeed:
- 2+ years of experience in fraud, card operations, disputes, or a related area.
- Ability to work independently and effectively manage assigned workloads and case queues.
- Strong knowledge of credit card operations and transaction activity.
- Understanding of common fraud typologies and fraud detection principles.
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with the ability to make sound risk-based decisions.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate case documentation.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills when working with cross-functional partners.
