Job Description

Position Overview:

As a Payroll Clerk, this person will assist in all activities regarding the management of employee compensation in the company. You will undertake a variety of tasks such as entering payroll information, calculating wages and making payments. This individual will be experienced in entering data with attention to detail and will have good mathematics skills to make the necessary calculations.

How you’ll make an impact:

  • Oversee and ensure payroll precision – Limit discrepancies by analyzing information and ensuring accuracy.
  • Develop, manage and maintain comprehensive payroll records.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state payroll regulations and established procedures.
  • Complete requests for pay-related documents including statements and verifications.
  • Complete other projects, tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • 1+ year of payroll processing experience, with a solid understanding of general accounting principles.
  • Highly accurate in data collection, entry, and reporting with strong attention to detail and a commitment to confidentiality.
  • Thorough knowledge of payroll-related legislation, policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively and execute tasks independently.
  • Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Self-starter who is proactive, motivated, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with payroll systems and related software.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Advanced Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, reporting).
