Sifted Software Engineers’ goals are to develop the next generation of our solutions. The work includes planning, designing, building, testing, documenting, deploying, and maintaining software, data structures, and information systems. This person thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a track record of creating alignment and inspiring trust with their peers and with the business stakeholders. This role will be responsible for working closely with product owners and stakeholders to define scope, gather requirements, and implement new software solutions and product features. This role will also have a strong influence on the application design and architecture. You'll spend your first months modernizing our foundation so the team can move fast on AI-driven features.

• Actively leverage AI tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude, Cursor, etc.) in daily development workflows — not as a novelty, but as a core productivity practice*
• Ability to evaluate, integrate, and maintain AI/LLM-powered features in production applications, including prompt design, model selection, and output validation
• Comfortable working with AI-generated code — reviewing it critically, refactoring it, and knowing when not to use it
• Translate business needs to technical specifications*
• Design, develop, and continuously improve scalable software solutions*
• Full-stack application and infrastructure development*
• Proficient in one or more of the following languages: C#, JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, or Python*
• Contribute to all aspects of software development, test automation, and deployment pipelines*
• Collaborate in teams consisting of engineers, product managers, data scientists, and analysts*
• Develop and implement techniques and processes to improve software quality, cost-effectiveness, and improve feedback loops*
• A desire to learn new business processes and technologies, and excellent problem-solving skills
• Rapidly apply lessons learned, and the desire to collaborate across the organization*

Desired Skills and Experience

• 2+ years full-stack software engineering experience
• Experience integrating LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, AWS Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, etc.) into real applications
• Familiarity with AI/ML concepts relevant to software engineering — embeddings, RAG pipelines, vector databases (Pinecone, pgvector, etc.)
• Exposure to AI orchestration tools like LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar
• Understanding of AI cost management and latency tradeoffs in production
• Prompt engineering fundamentals
• Thorough understanding of C# and its core principles
• Proficient with SQL
• Familiarity with Amazon Web Services, such as EC2, S3, and Lambda
• Experience utilizing DevOps tools such as: Jenkins, Terraform, Cloudformation, CDK, AWS CodePipelines,
• Bitbucket Pipelines, or Azure DevOps
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to take initiative and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
• Familiarity with security best practices, knowledge, and implementation
