Job Summary: RIS Rx is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to serve as a hands-on technical leader across the platforms that identify and mitigate gross-to-net (GTN) revenue leakage for pharmaceutical manufacturers. You will own ambiguous, cross-cutting systems that span multiple teams, set technical direction for an area, and raise the engineering bar through design, code, and mentorship during a period of rapid growth.
Responsibilities:
- Define and evolve the architecture of systems that span multiple teams, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Decompose ambiguous, cross-cutting problems into clear plans.
- Drive key technical initiatives such as observability, performance, and modernization of the codebase.
- Set coding standards, design conventions, and best practices that others follow.
- Write and review high-quality production code, leading by example on craft and testing.
- Serve as a technical escalation point for high-impact production issues and guide root-cause analysis.
- Plan and sequence complex, multi-component work, managing trade-offs and driving delivery through roadblocks.
- Mentor engineers across the area and explain complex trade-offs clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
Skills:
- 8+ years of professional software development, including a track record of leading technical projects beyond a single team.
- Expert-level proficiency in Go and TypeScript, or equivalent.
- Proven experience designing and scaling distributed systems and APIs for high-volume production.
- Deep experience with AWS (Lambda, S3, Terraform).
- Advanced PostgreSQL with query optimization, schema design, and data modeling.
- Familiarity with modern front-end technologies such as React and Next.js.
- Strong grasp of CI/CD, test automation, infrastructure-as-code, and observability.
- Experience with healthcare data or pharmaceutical-manufacturer integrations preferred
Education:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
