How You'll Make an Impact
- Conduct underwriting, financial, and risk analysis to support consulting teams and client benefit strategies.
- Develop plan design models and financial evaluations that help clients understand coverage options, funding arrangements, and projected costs.
- Lead key components of the benefits marketing process, including data collection, RFP preparation, carrier coordination, proposal analysis, and presentation development.
- Negotiate rates and plan options with insurance carriers to secure competitive and effective benefit solutions for clients.
- Analyze claims experience, utilization patterns, benchmarking data, and plan performance to identify opportunities and risks.
- Prepare employee contribution models, budgeting projections, and strategic recommendations that align with client goals.
- Participate in client meetings and presentations to explain financial findings, plan design considerations, and carrier recommendations.
- Stay current on insurance products, health care reform developments, consumer-driven health plans, alternative funding arrangements, and marketplace trends.

What You Bring
Day One:
- Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Insurance, Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
- 5 to 7 years of experience within the employee benefits brokerage, consulting, or insurance industry.
- Active Life, Accident, and Health insurance license, or the ability to maintain required licensure in accordance with role expectations.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data tables, data manipulation, and formula creation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and business reporting tools.
- Experience with underwriting, financial modeling, claims analysis, and benefits plan evaluation.
- Knowledge of insurance products, carrier negotiations, funding arrangements, benchmarking, and benefits marketplace dynamics.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours during peak business periods to meet client and project deadlines.
Valuable Additions:
- CSFS or comparable industry certification.
- Advanced experience supporting large-group employee benefits programs.
- Subject matter expertise in Health Care Reform, Consumer Driven Health Plans, and alternative funding strategies.
- Experience presenting financial analyses and recommendations directly to clients.
- Familiarity with advanced reporting, forecasting, and benefits analytics tools.
