We are seeking a full-time, remote IT Security Senior Engineer. The IT Security Senior Engineer will provide security to networks, cloud deployments, data centers and software systems. In addition, this role is responsible to monitor for and mitigate any attempted attacks or breaches. It is expected the IT Security Senior Engineer will stay abreast of developing trends in the field and will propose new layers of protection for any new threats. The IT Security Engineer will have exposure to cyber security projects, including working with project managers and other stakeholders. The IT Security Senior Engineer will be comfortable working with both traditional and new security tools found in all realms of the security world and will be the curious sort that can identify, research, and find solutions to issues or anything that looks out of the ordinary. RESPONSIBILITIES: Be curious about observations made in the enterprise – have an investigative mindsetHave a strong appetite for learning, be able to recognize areas for improvementDay-to-day operations, support and maintenance of various security-related platforms including (non-exhaustive): Log aggregation and/or SIEM systemsVulnerability Management systemsAnti-malware systemsApplication Security SystemsApplication Whitelisting SystemsIntrusion detection and prevention systemsData Loss Prevention systemsIdentity services and management systemsCloud solutionsSecure mail gateway solutionsInsider threat solutions & processesData Privacy solutions & processesCyber threat intelligence solutions & processesDigital forensic systemsData Classification and Tagging solutionsAI Security and GovernanceAny additional responsibilities assigned by leadership Monitor performance of systems with an eye for variances threatening the confidentiality, integrity or availability of themMonitor and respond to alerts generated by systems and tickets from usersLeverage strong communication and interpersonal skills to maintain healthy liaison with other teams, business partners, vendors and other service providers.Utilize excellent reasoning skills to evaluate multiple potential solutions to complex problems and resolve security issues.Develop solutions and processes to track security compliance metrics.Assist and support project management processes.Be familiar with and able to support both threat analysis and risk analysis for various purposes.Document configurations, specifications, processes and procedures for various systemsPerform additional support functions as needed.Ability to attend and successfully complete training (virtual and/or in person) as required.Utilizes AI tools to support day-to-day tasks, improve efficiency, and enhance output quality. Adopts new technologies as trained and applies them in alignment with established processes and guidelines.Demonstrates a customer-first mindset by developing a broad and deep (where appropriate) understanding of Paradigm organization, products, operations, and customers. Prioritizes collaboration to meet customer needs and expectations and takes personal accountability for service quality. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree preferredMinimum 2+ years of experience in Information Security or related field with a focus on security and/or the investigation or root cause analysisIndustry standard certifications in Information Security, Digital Forensics, or related field preferredExcellent interpersonal skillsInvestigative Mindset (focus on root cause)Ability to manage complex issues and develop solutionsDetail-oriented, excellent written and verbal communication, and presentation skills.Ability to execute in a fast paced, high demand environment while balancing multiple shifting prioritiesStrong understanding of attacker tools, techniques, and methodologies. Ability to gather and act on threat intelligence.Strong collaborative skills and proven ability to work in a diverse team of professionals (e.g. HR, Legal, IT, Information Security, Lines of Business, etc.)
