Assistant Controller

Location: Lehi, UT or Denver, CO

Position Summary

Netgain is seeking a highly capable Assistant Controller to help scale and modernize our accounting function. This role will partner directly with the Controller to strengthen our GAAP reporting framework, automate revenue processes under ASC 606, and build scalable systems and reporting infrastructure inside NetSuite.

This is a systems-forward accounting role focused on revenue recognition automation, monthly GAAP conversion and reporting rigor, financial systems cleanup and integration, and building executive-ready reporting processes. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical accounting expertise with systems fluency and process design thinking. This role is ideally based in our Lehi, UT office. Denver, CO candidates will also be considered.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Enhance and automate ASC 606 revenue recognition processes and monthly GAAP conversion workflows
• Build and refine recurring revenue, ASC 606, and executive reporting outputs within NetSuite
• Lead structural cleanup and reporting improvements within NetSuite, including department and business unit hierarchies
• Partner on HubSpot–NetSuite integration enhancements related to ARR and billing
• Own monthly budget vs. actual reporting and variance analysis
• Improve AR reporting, aging visibility, and manage collections and overdue invoice follow-up processes
• Support balance sheet integrity and strengthen close documentation and internal controls
• Lead preparation for the annual financial statement audit, including audit schedules and responses to auditor requests
• Identify and implement automation opportunities to streamline accounting and reporting processes
• Support and help lead the monthly accounting close process, including journal entry preparation and review, accruals, balance sheet reconciliations, and preparation of financial reporting packages
• Ensure timely and accurate month-end reporting, including recurring revenue reconciliations, ARR reporting, and alignment of operational data to GAAP financial results

Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• Process-oriented, systems-minded, and automation-focused
• Strong GAAP and ASC 606 technical foundation
• Experience in SaaS or recurring revenue environments preferred
• Experience supporting or leading annual audits
• NetSuite fluency (saved searches, reporting, structural design)
• Strong analytical and communication skills with attention to detail
• CPA preferred

Compensation: $90,000-150,000
