About MUBI

MUBI is a global streaming service, production company and film distributor dedicated to elevating great cinema. To make this possible, we create, curate, acquire and champion visionary films, bringing them to audiences all over the world. We have a team of brilliant, dedicated and passionate people to help bring our mission to life. From London to New York, Istanbul to Paris, and Berlin to Mexico - we work together to realize MUBI’s vision.

That’s where you come in! Join our global team and help us make great cinema accessible to everyone, everywhere.

About the Role

We are looking for a thoughtful, highly organized, and proactive individual to become the heart of our New York team. This role is a unique blend of Office Management, People Operations, and Talent Coordination, requiring someone who takes immense pride in creating a seamless environment where people can do their best work.

As we prepare to transition into a brand-new office space, you will be the primary lead on the ground. You’ll be the person who ensures the move is not just a logistical success, but a positive experience for the whole team.

Reporting to our London-based Head of People & Talent, you will act as the local cultural ambassador and operational anchor for our NYC presence. This role is perfect for someone who is a natural fixer - someone who notices the small details and acts on them before they become obstacles.

This role is based in Manhattan and requires 3/4 days on-site per week.

Where you’ll have impact:

  • Curating our workspace: You’ll lead the upcoming office move with diligence and foresight. Beyond the logistics, you’ll ensure our new space reflects our culture - functional, beautiful, and welcoming for both the team and our visitors.

  • Intuitive problem solving: You have the EQ to sense the needs of the office and our people, whether it’s streamlining a supply process, solving local ER cases, or identifying ways to improve the daily flow of the space.

  • Supporting Talent: You’ll be the bridge for our local hiring, managing candidate journeys with care and ensuring a high-touch, professional experience from the first outreach to their first day.

  • People Operations & care: You’ll manage our essential behind-the-scenes HR work - from maintaining our JustWorks and HiBob systems to ensuring local compliance - with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality.

  • Cultivating connection: You’ll coordinate local events and team-building moments, ensuring the New York team feels deeply connected to our global mission.

  • Onboarding excellence: You will own the US & LATAM welcome experience, ensuring every new hire feels supported, informed, and excited from day one..

What you’ll bring:

  • An Office-First mindset: You genuinely enjoy the hospitality and logistical side of office management. You’re the person who finds the better vendor or the smarter way to organize a storage room.

  • Operational excellence: You have a background in HR, People, or Office Management where you’ve demonstrated success in organizing complex tasks with a calm, focused approach.

  • Proactive ownership: You are someone who finds the gap and fills it. You enjoy the autonomy of being the sole People representative in the office and take initiative to improve things without needing a prompt. With your manager being in London, proactive autonomy and solo troubleshooting is key.

  • High emotional intelligence: You can navigate different personalities and priorities with ease. You are a clear, empathetic communicator who knows how to build trust quickly.

  • Intelligent diligence: You have a sharp eye for detail. Whether it’s a contract or a floor plan, you spot the inconsistencies and solve them proactively.

  • Adaptability: You thrive in a fast-paced environment and view the challenges of a growing office as an opportunity to learn and build better systems.

  • Familiarity with modern HR tech: Experience with tools like HiBob, JustWorks, or Ashby is a plus, but your ability to quickly master new platforms is what matters most.

We want to make cinema accessible to everyone. We believe people from different backgrounds bring different ideas that foster innovation and engagement, allowing us to attract great people to develop the best experience for our users.

MUBI is committed to being an Equal Opportunity Employer. That means it's our responsibility to ensure that all candidates are not discriminated against in our hiring processes and our employment decisions based on their race, color, religion, nationality or ethnic origin, age, gender identity or expression, sex, marital status, physical or mental disability, socioeconomic background, sexual orientation, family or parental status, or any other applicable characteristic.

Compensation Range: $70K - $75K
