We are seeking an (Senior) Accountant (all genders) based in Berlin, Germany.

Your mission with us:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Accountant to join our finance team. In this role, you will independently handle complex accounting tasks, contribute significantly to monthly and annual financial statements, and support the optimization of financial processes. You will also serve as the central point of contact for internal departments, auditors, and tax advisors.

Your tasks:

  • Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with the German Commercial Code (HGB)
  • Responsibility for complex accounting processes, e.g., provisions, accruals, and asset accounting.
  • Analysis and commentary on business figures, target-actual variances, and reports.
  • Ensuring compliance with legal requirements in accounting and tax law.
  • Participation in the preparation of tax returns in collaboration with tax advisors.
  • Contact for auditors, tax authorities, and internal departments.
  • Support in the further development and automation of processes, tools, and systems.
  • Mentoring and technical support for junior accountants.

You bring to Lingoda

  • Successfully completed commercial training with further training as a certified public accountant (IHK) or a degree in business administration with a focus on accounting/finance.
  • Several years of professional experience in financial accounting, preferably in a similar position.
  • Excellent knowledge of the German Commercial Code (HGB), good knowledge of IFRS is an advantage.
  • Confident use of common accounting software (DATEV, MS Dynamics) and MS Excel.
  • Analytical thinking skills, a strong affinity for numbers, and a structured, independent working style.
  • Teamwork skills, strong communication skills, and high self-motivation
  • Fluent German and good written and spoken English skills are required.
  • Project or management experience is an advantage.
