Role Overview
The Director of Technology Operations leads the systems, governance, and operational rigor that enable technology teams to deliver reliably, transparently, and in alignment with strategic and financial priorities. This role is responsible for establishing governance, performance measurement, cost transparency, and operational rigor across the technology organization.
This leader oversees operational governance, financial alignment, platform visibility, and vendor engagement to ensure the technology organization runs with clarity, accountability, and measurable outcomes.
This is a highly collaborative role designed for a systems thinker who thrives on bringing structure to complexity, enabling teams to deliver value efficiently while improving overall technology operations.
COMPENSATION: $114,000 - $139,000/annually in addition to a competitive bonus plan

Responsibilities
- Lead and continuously improve intake governance processes to ensure work entering the technology organization is prioritized, aligned to strategy, and properly scoped
- Establish and operate a centralized command center for technology operations
- Ensure demand is evaluated based on business value, risk, and capacity, separating signal from noise
- Prepare decision-ready materials that connect strategy, delivery, and financial impact
- Define standards for vendor and partner engagement across the technology organization
- Establish operational frameworks that create clarity around ownership, decision-making, and execution accountability
- Lead creation and tracking of technology KPIs, including delivery performance, platform reliability, and operational efficiency
- Develop and maintain platform health metrics that provide visibility into system stability, performance, and risk
- Drive technology cost transparency, ensuring leadership understands where investments are allocated across platforms, products, and initiatives
- Own financial governance for technology, including budget tracking, forecasting support, and cost control mechanisms
- Develop and maintain platform health metrics that provide visibility into system stability, performance, and risk
- Establish operational performance metrics to assess team throughput, predictability, and execution effectiveness
- Oversee vendor management operations, including tracking of external technology spend
- Partner with Procurement, Finance, and Technology leaders to ensure vendor investments are cost-effective and aligned to strategic priorities
- Provide structured meeting facilitation and operational support for key technology leadership forums (e.g., planning reviews, governance councils, operational reviews)
- Design and run structured sessions that drive decisions, accountability, and follow-through
- Serve as a connective partner across Technology, Product, Finance, and Operations to ensure alignment and execution discipline
- 8–10+ years of experience in technology operations, technical program management, or engineering operations
- Experience leading operational governance, KPI frameworks, and performance reporting within a technology organization
- Strong background in technology financial management, budgeting support, or cost transparency initiatives
- Proven success driving process improvement and operating model maturity
- Experience managing or governing vendor relationships and external technology spend
- Excellent facilitation, communication, and executive presentation skills
- Ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels, translating leadership goals into measurable systems
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate delivery complexity into clear insights
