About the Job
We are looking for a talented Senior Software Engineer to join the Browser Extension team. As part of the team, you will be responsible for developing and enhancing the browser extension features that empower millions of users to secure their digital lives. You’ll be working with cutting-edge technologies like JavaScript, React, Redux, Jest, and more, ensuring that our browser extensions are reliable, secure, and easy to use.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain high-quality, scalable, and secure features for the Keeper Browser Extension using JavaScript, React, Redux, and Jest.
- Work closely with product managers, UX/UI designers, and other engineers to define requirements and deliver the best possible user experience.
- Ensure the highest standards for coding practices, including test-driven development (TDD), writing unit tests with Jest, and participating in code reviews.
- Continuously analyze, improve, and optimize the performance, reliability, and security of the browser extension to meet the growing needs of users.
- Review, maintain, and improve the current codebase, fixing bugs, implementing new features, and refactoring code as necessary to keep it scalable and maintainable.
- Actively engage in code reviews to ensure quality, share knowledge with team members, and uphold coding standards.
- Keep up to date with the latest trends, best practices, and tools in web development, browser extensions, and cybersecurity.
- Help identify areas for process improvement, code refactoring, and potential technical debt resolution.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in JavaScript development, including proficiency in core JavaScript concepts.
- 3+ years of experience with React, Redux, Jest, and TypeScript.
- Strong experience with browser extension development and the unique challenges it presents (e.g., compatibility across different browsers, browser APIs).
- Experience with modern web development tools and workflows, including build tools like Webpack, version control using Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Solid understanding of frontend architectures, including component-based development, state management, and UI/UX principles.
- Experience with testing frameworks such as Jest and writing comprehensive unit and integration tests.
- Ability to maintain and improve a large codebase, ensuring it remains stable, scalable, and maintainable.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to debug complex issues.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with remote teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience working with security technologies and understanding of cybersecurity principles, particularly with regard to browser security and data protection.
- Experience with performance optimization for browser extensions, focusing on load times, memory management, and responsiveness.
- Familiarity with web standards (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and accessibility best practices.

4. Who We Share Information With
Internal:

- Background verification vendors (post offer)
- Recruitment agencies (where applicable)
- Tools to support communication, collaboration and to securely store your data
Keeper ensures that all our third parties are contractually bound to protect your personal data with adequate safeguards in place.
5. International Transfers
Your data may be accessed by Keeper entities globally as needed for the purposes of hiring and decision making. We protect any such data transfer between Keeper entities using appropriate safeguards under applicable data protection laws.
6. Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data, consistent with our industry leading security standards.
7. Retention
We keep your data for 24 months from your last application activity, then delete or anonymize it.
Exceptions:
- You opt into our talent database for further retention by providing consent (extended retention)
- You're hired (transfers to employee records)
8. Your Rights
You have the following rights and can contact us at the email below to exercise them:
- Access, correct, or delete your data, subject to applicable law and retention requirements
- Object to or restrict processing
- Withdraw consent (where applicable)
- Request data portability
- Lodge a complaint with your data protection authority
If you become an employee, your rights regarding your employee record are governed by our internal Employee Privacy Notice and certain data will be retained as required under relevant laws such as employment or tax law.
When you request access to your personal data, some information may be redacted if it includes the personal data of other individuals or information that we must protect in order to preserve their privacy rights.
9. Automated Decisions
Keeper does not make hiring decisions using solely automated processing.
