About the Job

As an Accounting Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day accounting operations of a fast-paced, private equity–backed, multi-site restoration and construction services organization. You are responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting while partnering closely with operations and leadership to drive profitability and informed decision-making.

This role is critical to ensuring strong financial controls, timely reporting, and scalable processes that support our continued growth.

What You’ll Do

• Manage daily accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and payroll support
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including preparation and analysis of financial statements
• Manage revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606
• Oversee lease accounting under ASC 842 across multiple locations and asset classes
• Oversee job costing, work-in-progress (WIP) schedules, and project margin reporting across service lines
• Partner with operations leaders and project managers to analyze profitability and improve financial performance
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
• Manage year-end external audit processes, including documentation and internal control requests
• Partner with external tax preparers to ensure federal and state compliance
• Develop, maintain, and enhance internal controls to safeguard company assets
• Conduct regular and ad-hoc financial analysis to support leadership decision-making
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements
• Contribute to the development of financial policies, procedures, and scalable systems
• Assist with project bids, close-out requirements, and financial review
• Provide financial training and support to operational and administrative staff as needed
• Manage, coach, and mentor accounting team members, providing clear guidance and performance feedback
• Stay current on accounting standards, regulatory changes, and industry best practices

What You’ll Bring

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong working knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
• Experience managing month-end close in a multi-entity environment
• Advanced Excel skills and ERP system proficiency
• High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and compliance
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Ability to communicate effectively and partner cross-functionally with operational leaders

Preferred

• CPA or CMA designation
• Public accounting experience
• Experience in construction, restoration, or project-based accounting
• Experience with insurance claims and TPA billing
• Multi-entity accounting experience
• Experience with Sage Intacct
