The Senior Lab Associate plays a key role in supporting laboratory operations and research execution. This role actively contributes to monoclonal antibody development through B-cell sorting, cell culture, and ELISA-based screening, while ensuring accuracy, consistency, and throughput. The candidate will independently manage lab readiness, maintaining a clean, compliant, and efficient work environment.
The successful candidate is highly detail-oriented, self-directed, and motivated to improve laboratory efficiency. They are comfortable operating with minimal supervision, identifying gaps in existing workflows, and contributing to the development and refinement of laboratory processes.
What You Will Do
- Isolate PBMC from blood samples
- Perform FACS sorting and culture of antigen-specific B-cells
- ELISA screening and characterization of monoclonal antibody candidates
- Analyze and troubleshoot experimental data
- Assist with organization and inventory of work product
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of SOPs for all processes
- Accurately document and record all necessary data
- Perform critical regular laboratory maintenance duties that include but are not limited to dish washing, cleaning lab benches and common-use lab space, reagent preparation and maintaining equipment.
- Cross-train with other functions within the department to maintain business continuity.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by management, which may not be listed above, that are necessary to accomplish our goal of improving lives by supporting scientific discovery
Who You Are & What You Bring
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, or related discipline required
- 5+ years of experience in a relevant scientific field required
- Able to communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues
- Proficient with MS Office applications
- Experience with mammalian cell culture, ELISA, FACS or flow cytometry preferred
- Proficiency in scientific laboratory techniques including multiplate handling, multichannel and electronic pipetting, utilizing a centrifuge, microscope, and cell counter.
- Requires working with blood products, hazardous chemicals, mammalian cells, and tissues.
