Energy Aspects is looking for a Senior European Gas Analyst to join its industry-leading gas and power research team.


In the role, you would be responsible for the full cycle of research, from analysing price and supply-demand relationships to building sophisticated models and compiling unique data sets. You would communicate Energy Aspects' views to clients through written reports, visuals, and published data sets. Additionally, you would present your insights to clients, prospects, and the media, both in person and online.


Energy Aspects would expect you to continuously develop its product offering, improve internal processes, and seek out useful data sources. Every analyst at Energy Aspects is encouraged to grow their professional reputation within the industry and forge relationships with the market. Strong collaboration and communication skills are a must and experience managing others would be useful.

Key Responsibilities

  • Researching the European gas market to maintain and improve our in-house supply-demand and pricing models.
  • Building relationships with the market to gain insights.
  • Writing reports and making presentation materials to convey our views to our clients.
  • Presenting EA’s views to clients and to the media.
  • Working closely with other members of the team to align our forecasts and sense check work.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Proven experience as a gas analyst, with a strong understanding of the European gas market.
  • Strong technical competence (Excel, statistical forecasting) and the ability to build and maintain complex supply-demand models.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build industry relationships.
  • Good track record of working to tight deadlines and collaborating effectively in teams.

Desirable Skills:

  • Coding skills using languages like Python, R, or similar would be advantageous.
  • Experience of mentoring or leading junior team members to build a high performance culture.
  • Experience in public speaking and talking to the media.
  • Professional fluency in other European languages.
