SUMMARY:?
The Quality Support Technician serves to support the operations team by providing and performing a detailed and thorough inspection and cleaning of the repaired vehicle prior to release to the customer.? This role will also serve to assist shop operations by performing a variety of tasks associated with maintenance of the shop location, including the cleaning and organizing of various pieces of equipment and tools.?
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:??

Responsible for performing a thorough detailing and cleaning of all vehicles prior to final delivery to the customer.

Visually inspect every vehicle for flaws in the repaired area. Promptly notify the General Manager or assigned Technician should any defects or issues be found upon inspection.

Responsible for assisting in the general maintenance of shop location and outside grounds.

Inspecting goods or products according to quality and safety standards.

May serve to ensure that test equipment is calibrated and working correctly.

Consistently utilizes all required safety equipment, adheres to all requirements for hazardous waste disposal and participates in monthly safety meetings.

Maintains the proper function of all service tools and equipment in the detail department; keep personal work area organized and returns tools, materials, and equipment to designated areas.

Identifying possible areas for improvement in quality control processes.

Wash, hand dry, and polish the exterior of repaired vehicles to remove dust, fingerprints, and overspray from paint and body work.

Clean and vacuum vehicle interiors, including seats, carpets, floor mats, and trunk areas, and wipe down dashboards, consoles, and door panels.

Remove protective masking, tape, and paper from repaired panels once paint work is complete.

Buff and polish painted surfaces to blend repaired panels with the surrounding finish and remove minor swirl marks or polishing compound residue.

Clean glass, mirrors, and chrome or trim pieces to a streak free finish.

Apply tire shine, wheel cleaner, and other finishing products to complete the vehicle’s final appearance if applicable.

Check the vehicle thoroughly for tools, parts, hardware, or shop debris and remove any items before delivery.

Confirm that floor mats, seat positions, mirrors, and personal belongings are restored the way the customer left them.

Stage completed vehicles in the delivery area and coordinate timing with front office, CSR, Estimator and/or General Manager for customer pickup.

Perform any cleaning activities such as mopping, dusting, sweeping, as well as collecting and emptying trash cans daily.

Service, clean, and supply any items in restrooms.

Make minor repairs, when necessary, such as changing the light bulbs.
QUALIFICATIONS:??

High School Diploma or equivalent??
-
Valid Driver’s License and good driving record is necessary?
-
Prior experience in automotive industry is strongly preferred but not required??

Excellent verbal communication and mechanical skills??

Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment??

Willingness to be flexible with task assignments and respond to the needs of the shop operations team?

Ability to work independently but also as part of a larger team to meet the objective of servicing the customer and vehicle?
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
-
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods on shop and concrete floors, up to a full shift.
-
Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to fifty pounds regularly and heavier items occasionally with assistance.

Frequent bending, kneeling, crouching, and reaching, including into vehicle interiors, trunks, and engine compartments.

Repetitive use of hands and arms for wiping, buffing, polishing, and vacuuming tasks.
-
Ability to climb in and out of vehicles multiple times throughout the day.
-
Regular exposure to fumes, dust, cleaning chemicals, and varying temperatures, both indoors and outdoors.
-
Manual dexterity and hand eye coordination sufficient to safely operate detailing equipment and small tools.

Visual acuity sufficient to detect surface flaws, paint imperfections, and cleanliness issues under shop lighting.
