SUMMARY:Â

The Auto Detailer is primarily responsible for preparing vehicles for the refinishing and reassembly process.Â

Â

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Â Â

• Thoroughly review each repair order prior to beginning work on the vehicleÂ

• Complete all paint preparation processes for vehicleÂ

• May prime, edge or jam replacement partsÂ

• Know how to properly sand and prep for paint, new parts and blend partsÂ

• Know how to properly sand and featheredge surface for primerÂ

• Able to properly block panels for refinishingÂ

• Able to mask and spray the correct amount and coats of primerÂ

• Able to mask all panels and cover car to minimize tapelines and overspray on vehicleÂ

• Utilize all required safe equipment and follow proper refinishing procedures in compliance with OSHA guidelinesÂ

• Adheres to all requirements hazardous waste disposalÂ

• Maintain a clean and organized workspaceÂ

QUALIFICATIONS:Â Â

• High School Diploma or equivalent requiredÂ

• Effective communication skills requiredÂ

• Ability to work in high performance, fast-paced team environmentÂ

• Excellent problem-solving skillsÂ

• Valid driver's licenseÂ

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Â

• Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of timeÂ

• Ability to perform repetitive tasksÂ

• Vision abilities required include, close, distance, and depth perceptionÂ

• Periodic lifting and carrying objects over 50 poundsÂ

• Reaching above and below shoulder levelÂ

• Extended periods of kneeling, bending, squatting, and stooping to complete or inspect repairsÂ

• Eye-hand coordinationÂ

• May be exposed to fumes, chemicals, high level of dust and noise in repair areaÂ

• Must be able to wear protective equipment, including a respiratorÂ
