PAINT PREP TECHNICIAN – HIGH PRODUCTION COLLISION SHOP

Collision Paint Prep Experience Required | Fast-Paced | High Earning Potential

If you live for precision, speed, and seeing flawless paint jobs roll out of the booth—this is your lane. We’re hiring an experienced Paint Prep Technician to support our high-volume, high-performance collision production team at CollisionRight.

This is not an entry-level role. We’re looking for someone who knows how to prep with purpose, move with urgency, and deliver clean, consistent results.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As a Paint Prep Technician, you play a critical role in the quality, speed, and finish of every vehicle that leaves our shop. You will:

  • Thoroughly review each repair order before starting work

  • Perform all paint preparation processes

  • Prime, edge, and jam replacement parts as needed

  • Properly sand & prep new parts, blend panels, and repair surfaces

  • Featheredge and block panels for refinishing

  • Apply correct primer coats and coverage

  • Mask all panels and vehicles to minimize tapelines and overspray

  • Maintain strict compliance with OSHA safety standards

  • Properly handle hazardous waste disposal

  • Keep a clean, organized, production-ready workspace


WHAT YOU BRING

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • Collision Paint Prep experience required

  • Strong communication & teamwork skills

  • Ability to thrive in a high-performance, fast-paced production environment

  • Excellent problem-solving skills

  • Valid Driver’s License


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to stand or sit for long periods

  • Repetitive motion and detailed hand work

  • Lift and carry 50+ lbs periodically

  • Frequent kneeling, bending, squatting & stooping

  • Ability to wear a respirator & protective equipment

  • Exposure to:

    • Fumes

    • Chemicals

    • Dust

    • Noise
