The Senior Product Line Manager is one of the key members in the cross-functional management team to drive product from concept, to prototype to profitable portfolio. In order to manage a successful product development. The Sr. Product Line Manager needs to deeply understand the product life cycle, working closely with the customer facing team in getting customer requirements and meeting customer expectations, working closely with the engineering team in product specifications, qualification and risk mitigation, and working closely with the operations team in supply chain security, manufacturability, capacity ramp-up and cost reduction.
Key Essential Functions:
Candidate will attend customer meetings, present product features/specifications and understand requirements.
Candidate will monitor the product in all phases of the Product Life Cycle and drive the Decision Reviews between the phases to ensure the achievement of product specs, quality, time to market and profitability.
Candidate may manage more than one product lines and coordinate with other PLM’s.
Minimum Qualifications, Experience, Skills, Education & Experience:
MS in Optical/Electronic Engineering or Physics
At least 10 years of experience in optical communications.
Good understanding of optical components used in optical fiber transmissions.
First-hand experience with development of optical systems including PCBA's, mechanical assemblies, ASICs, electro-optical components, and SW integration and testing.
At least 5 years in product line management, product marketing, and/or program/project management
Must have significant experience in full product life cycle with more than one product
At least 7 years of experience with customer interactions
Other Desirable Skills:
Candidates must have a strong technical background in optical telecommunication, especially in DWDM transport and optical subsystems.
Expertise in optical coherent communication is a plus.
Candidate must have good business sense and excellent customer interaction skills.
The candidate must be self-motivated and have good communication skills and leadership to influence the team and to manage complex products.
Candidates must understand and keep tracking the relevant market characteristics and applications
