Associate Software Engineer - Automation at Solutionreach

The Solutionreach Engineering team is looking for an Associate Software Engineer to join our fast-growing and high-energy team. We need a junior to mid-level engineer to help us with automating a large chunk of tasks that are currently being run manually by senior engineers. Strong SQL skills will be needed to turn various scripts and manual processes into internal tools. Some of the internal tools you create may even be turned into user-facing features!
As you prove you prove yourself and automate this backlog you’ll transition onto other scrum teams where you will work closely with our Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Quality Engineers and other Software Engineers in a team to iteratively deliver high-quality software.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for solving problems with technology and delivering high quality software.
Duties and responsibilities
Create internal web-based tools for various manual reporting and database tasks
Make stakeholders happy by automating their tasks and empowering them to self-serve
Design, implement, test, and maintain web application features including all associated web pages, business logic and database queries
Hone your communication and cooperation skills as you learn and gather information needed to succeed in your mission
Ability to work in an agile environment and iterate quickly based on customer and internal feedback
1+ years of professional experience with web application technologies such as Java, Ruby, .NET etc...
Strong experience with SQL databases such as Postgres, MySQL etc…
Experience working with complicated SQL queries, understanding joins, schemas, primary keys, foreign key relationships, indexes, triggers, views etc...
Experience using important tools of the trade such as git, maven, composer etc...
A sound understanding of internet application architecture including browser concepts, HTTP, REST, etc.
Passion for software development and problem solving
High energy and an aptitude for learning new technologies
Exceptional debugging, testing, and problem solving skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Self-starter with proven ability to learn new technologies quickly and effectively
Ability to work in a self-directed manner with the ability to clearly communicate and ask for needed information and resources
Bachelor’s/Master's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
Experience with SaltStack a plus.
General office environment: Works generally at a desk in a well-lighted, air-conditioned cubicle/office, with moderate noise levels. Periods of stress may occur.
Activities require a significant amount of sitting at office and work desks and in front of a computer monitor. Some walking and standing relative to interaction with other personnel.
Little to no travel is expected for this position.
