Acacia Communications is an optical networking technology company that empowers cloud and content providers to connect at the speed of light enabling them to meet the rapidly increasing consumer demands for data.



This positions plays an important role in the day-to-day processing of accounting transactions in several key areas, which will ultimately result in the preparation of accurate financial statements.  This position is a key player in the monthly close process as well as supporting Accounts Payable for several global locations. The Staff Accountant will also be involved in performing key controls and implementing process improvements.


Key Essential Functions

  • Perform journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations for various accounts, including but not limited to cash and investments and various accrual accounts, in support monthly close process
  • Participate in preparation of entity level financial statements and the consolidation process
  • Participate in the accounts payable process by reviewing invoice entry, posting AP cash transactions and assisting in payment runs
  • Oversee vendor master data, including review and approval of new vendor set up
  • Post the bi-weekly payroll journal entry and related accruals
  • Administer the Concur expense reporting system, including set up of new employees and processing employee expense reimbursements; record travel accruals as required
  • Update foreign exchange rates and upload into ERP system
  • Interact with and fulfill requests from internal and external auditors
  • Perform and document relevant Sarbanes-Oxley key controls


Other Duties

  • Other ad hoc projects and reporting as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Minimum Qualifications, Experience, Skills, Education and Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or the equivalent qualification in training and experience
  • 2+ years of experience in general ledger accounting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Analytical, detail oriented, with an emphasis on data integrity and accuracy
  • Works well under stress and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and follow through on commitments on/before they are due


Other Considerations/Qualifications

  • Understanding of SOX compliance (internal control standards) highly desired
  • Epicor or similar ERP experience preferred
